where i live i had to see a skin specialist and opted to see a new one i thought would be better..............well.she was better but had i not been up front that i had no insurance but would pay that day i doubt she would have seen me..i had to sign a paper "that all patients must read/sign"..letting us know that she does not take medicare pts........ unless they self pay as she does not deal with medicare..........as i have said...........this soon will be a trend as Drs are tired of the pharmacuetical companies and the gov telling them how they are to manage their patients care.universal health care is not the answer to all either .......america has some of the best Drs.and surgeons in the world...................once universal health care is mandated...it is not likely they will stay where they can no longer dictate their priorities..........thats my OPINION AS I SEE IT.
Where would the doctors go? Every modern nation in the world has government run healthcare except the U.S. Of course they could take up auto mechanics.
Universal healthcare is the answer for that very reason. We have some smart doctors but our doctors are so use to everyone catering to them that they have become terribly inefficient. They are at a loss with most technology and are decades behind on good medical processes compared to the rest of the world.
Time you insurance agents got out of the gutter!
