I have an HMO with Medicare. I've been hospitalized several times in the past 6 months. My insurance pays x amount and I'm left with co-payments.
So far I've paid out over $2500.00 this is for co-payments/deductibles Same day surgery and hospital stays. There is no limit, my income is too high for MA/SNAP.
I thought the hospital would assist me with their Hardship Plan because of these high co-payments, but the hospital tells me because my insurance cuts their charges I don't qualify.
Has anyone heard of this?
Welfare basically tells me to make a decision between paying my co-pays or buy food.
My SSDI is less than $1100 per month.
