In Response to Re: Signing up for medicare:
I have a question about that. I currently have coverage through my husband's work and it's pretty good. I was told by his company's rep that if I sign up for any Medicare part at all, my coverage through them will be dropped. They will not give me a letter saying I have equivalent coverage until I sign up for Medicare and am dropped by them. Does anyone have a clue as to what I should do? I'm only a few months from 65.

I got the same notice, it appears, back before I turned 65. Please clarify for us: they tell you 'since you are turning 65, you will lose the current insurance'. You sign up for MediCare before your birthday, but it doesn't go into effect until the month you turn 65.
