Here are the facts regarding the tax deductibility of medical expenses. The current law allows one to deduct medical expenses to the extent that they exceed 7.5% of your AGI, so if your AGI is $50,000, the first $3,750 is not deductible. Next year that changes to only the amount in excess of 10%, so it will be for that same guy the amount in excess of $5,000.
