I am a few years from needing to decide what to do with various Medicare questions but just got the shock of my life: current monthly price for my 2 inhalers--needed to keep me alive--is over what we spend for food for 4 adults. My current insurance is through my husband's job; he's been told that as long as he's working there, I'm covered, even when I'm over 65. So here are the questions:
What should I do to verify this coverage? They give us nothing in writing on coverage except a summary chart.
If I am covered, am I penalized for not signing up for Medicare part b or d when I'm 65?
Sorry for seeming thick, but I'm finding the Medicare.gov site a bit hard to navigate.
