I really envy you that trip home. As far as I know I have no relatives left in my home town of Atlanta. Many years ago my father's brothers left and moved into north Georgia which was where their parents were from. That left my parents the only ones still in town along with my sisters. One by one we all left also and when my parents died we all quit going. Of course the city bears little resemblance to the place where we grew up.
What I have been doing lately, which is almost like going home, is that I have discovered a FaceBook group that my high school graduating class began at the time of our 50th reunion. I had lost contact with all of them also when we all scattered for different colleges, marriages, etc. Even a few years after we graduated they built a new school and named it the same as ours, but entirely different and in a different location. A lot of the old photos have been posted, not just of school, but also hang-outs, etc. It almost feels like going back.
