In Response to Re: Better Than Prompts - Five Tips For Creating a Memory List:
Dennis, Thank you so much for this list. I will get started expanding mine. I started a blog just for myself to see how my writing thoughts looks when I read it back. Do you think this would be an effective tool?

All writing (as is true all art) must ultimately face the issue of audience. While art is self-expression, it is also an expression directed out into the world. I may be filled with grief and scream out in pain when I am with an audience, but when alone I may simply crumple under my pain. This is not about being a "show off, etc." it is about the interaction one feels from one's fellow human beings. When one is with others, one's reaction naturally takes them into account.
Specifically, if you can be your own audience by reading a piece later you will in some way approximate the artist audeince relationship. Oh, yes, it would be a good idea to write today and read tomorrow. You will have beent hewritr yesterday and ghe audience today. But, even better would be to gather friends and read to a group.
Good luck with your writing.
