I really envy you that you saw your work published. I was published twice while in college and I saw neither piece. Neither was submitted by me and at the time I didn't consider it anything special. The first was a paper that I wrote for a freshman English class that my professor asked permission to submit it to a literary magazine. He then notified me that it had been accepted. I changed schools before it was published but I'm not certain I would have gotten a copy anyway.
The second was for a song that I wrote for my sorority in college. It was published in the sorority song book. I didn't keep a copy of that either.
I did go caroling once right after I moved to Macon. My husband was the TV news anchor and I knew very few people. I learned that some of the TV and Radio people were going carolling. It turned out to only be about 6 of us, but one of the places we went was to the Blind Academy and also a nursing home. Both places knew we were coming and had refreshments waiting after our sing-a-long. I met some interesting people, both my fellow carollers and the listeners.
