Miss Liberty Shed A Tear
The symbol of our breedom, standing proud for all to see,
Her torch held high to show the world she stands for liberty.
The freedom of religion, and yes, a whole lot more.
Was withness to the terror brought upon our country's shore,
This senseless act of madness, that we have never seen here.
While the world looked on in disbelief, Miss Liberty shed a tear.
Three thousand people perished and maybe hundreds more,
'cause a man that hates our country and all that it stands for.
Thousands ran away in pain, while others ran back in,
Police and firefighters, recue squads and those within.
With no regard for safety, searching, helping those in fear.
The heroes there among them, for which Liberty shed a tear.
While all the world was watching, there was no where they could hide,
As the building fell around them, trapping everyone inside.
The ones who came to rescue, to help those who were in pain,
Where do we get our heroes, as we look into the mirror,
It's there inside of each of us, when Miss Liberty sheds a tear.
The sadness and the heartbreak that spread across the land.
Was soon replaced with anger as we all began to stand.
Though the price to keep our freedom may be paid on foreign soil,
Will be paid in full with interest, as our blood begins to boil.
For this land won't rest until it's done, so let's just make it clear.
For those who died, or were left behind, Miss Liberty shed a tear.
We'll look in every crevice, no rock will go unturned,
We'll smoke out this snake of Satan, and then watch his carcass burn.
And those who stood beside him, will follow next in line,
For they are just as guilty as the ones who did the crime.
And when it's finally over, and we have went the extra mile,
To assure our country's safetry, then Miss Liberty can smile.
Great post. Diane
