In Response to RE: Shaking up Grilled Cheese by oldieone51
Not grilled cheese, but similar concept and very tasty! I first made it with a small boule of multi-grain bread, but rye or sourdough is just great for this! Instead of Monerey Jack, I used Havarti slices and Parmesan. Delicious with other cheeses as well...It is addictive! You can also cut the bread into slices and put it together as a sandwich to grill or make cheese "toasts" under the broiler. The spices are what makes it!
Great with soup or a salad and good reheated the next day. Unless you are sharing a meal or have a lumberjack's appetite, you will have leftovers!
This is an interesting recipe I came across...it is was a contribution on another discussion group. It’s a little late for the Super Bowl, but it looks like a great appetizer or something to serve with soup or salad for a simple Sunday Supper. Just thought I’d share...
