In Response to What is mineral powder? by cherylchrissie
Hello all -- I found an interesting piece on an organic makeup site. I know nothing of that site personally, but they quote a lot of sources both medical and governmental. Noting that rats are particularly sensitive to growths in the lungs (poor things!) and that they were dusted with a huge amount of titanium oxide over long periods of time, I kind of feel that almost everything manufactured today is hazardous in high enough doses.... but that's another topic.
Mineral powder can provide light coverage and protect the skin with both immediate and long-term benefits. Rodan + Fields (two dermatologists from San Francisco) created their a treatment powder that has active ingredients such as Peptides. The line's called ENHANCEMENTS Mineral Peptides SPF 20. It works double duty to support skin’s resiliency to environmental aggressors and irritants while providing sun protection. The non active ingredients it contains (mica) acts as a light deflecter and works immediately to even skin tone and reduce redness - making it perfect for Rosacea sufferers.
