At least! I, like you, remember the "expensive" auto transmission. Now we are paying extra for the 5-speed.
I don't drive 30mph like some but I have found that how we drive has a lot more to do with how long one lasts than what we are driving.
If you are going to floorboard it at every light, run up to the stop sign and stand on the brakes to stop, forget to change the oil till it is black, never watch your gages till some"idiot" warning light comes on to tell you you are about to blow out a motor,you are going to spend a lot of time and money in the service department and for all your hurrying you will probably beat me home by 5 minutes at the most.
Simple things like staying aware of how it usually sounds or what it's usual temp is can mean the difference in buying a $25.00 fan belt and a $5000.00 motor. You don't have to be a mechanic just pay attention to the little things.
