After working as a journalist, a criminal defense attorney, and a corporate communications guy, finally, thanks to being thrown under the bus at 60, I have a job that lets me be fully me. Teaching ESL to immigrants, I don't have to leave part of myself at the door when I go into work. And yet, I wonder, would I have loved this work as much if I had done it in the first place, several decades ago? Question: If you are engaged in a wonderful encore career, do you wish you'd done it all along? Or was finding it near, at, or after retirement really for the best?
