I certainly oppose the "end of patent" schemes used by pharmaceutical companies, but AARP writer Patricia Barry in the Jan Feb AARP Bulletin unfortunately exemplies AARP. While bemoaning the tactic moves people receiving the Medicare D gift of drugs more quickly to the donut hole (which did not exist before the benefit was foisted upon the taxpayers) Patricia again shows the selfcentered me me me attitide of AARP. Not one word about the fact that while Medicare D recipients move more quickly to the donut hole the rest of us have to pay the huge difference in drug cost between Lipitor and the generic atorvistatin. Again, AARP promotes taking from generallly less well off younger people and giving to generally wealthier Medicare recipients. Thanks for nothing AARP, your selfishness is showing.
