In Response to Re: LAW AND ORDER:SVU TO AIR TRAYVON MARTIN/PAULA DEEN EPISODE:
Eleanor, you said
"...I don't think I will be watching Law&Order SVU when they air the episode. The Zimmerman trial was bad enough and should be over and done with. I think its bad taste on the part of the network to come up with something like this."
That's certainly food for thought and a good reason NOT to watch. I have another, possibly more compelling reason. As I get older, I find that when I think back to movies or TV shows I've seen, the more recent ones seem to get blurred in my memory and consequently, if I try to think back to whether I saw something on the news or on a television show loosely based on reality, I am sometimes unsure which is which and I hesitate to comment on it for fear that I truly may have my "facts" mixed up.
Both of these stories were a sad business and with all of the mudslinging, innocent people are bound to be caught in the crossfire. We cannot count on anything being absolutely right or absolutely wrong any more as this old world has become increasingly complicated and increasingly polarized. "Bad taste" is a nice way of putting it but I'm afraid if it comes to pass, it will stir up all of the xenophobia related to ethnic and racial issues and we won't be any further along than we are right now...which is to say, not very far at all.
Thanks for an interesting point of view.

First of all, I never know if when I click on reply my computer is landing in the right spot to reply. Also, today, it looks like AARP has made some changes on their website or maybe its my computer?
You are not the only one who gets confused as to what you have or havenot seen or heard, whether on TV or in the news; But, hey, don't let that hold you back from posting. If you make a mistake, we are supposed to be adults and friendly.
You are right, Nothing is absolutely right or wrong anymore and this world has changed and just my opinion, here, not changed really for the best. Ethnic and racial issues are getting worse. I think partly due to the Media. They don't let go of things like they should. I don't see how this Travyon Martin case can even compare to Paul Dean and to put them together (I will speak out here) is wrong.
