In Response to Re: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS AND SPECIALS?:
I can't forget the thrill of watching "A Christmas Carol" as a child with Alistair Sim playing Scrooge. It was a treat to drink pop and eat popcorn as we kids watched the story unfold from a miserly old man to one who loved Christmas. The scariest moment was when the Ghost of the Future came to him, but we certainly could identify with Bob Cratchit and his family.

I agree that was the Christmas Carol that I remember from my youth. Turner Classic has one night where they ran several different Christmas Carol's. That was fun to watch!
My sister's and I remembered a program of The Little Match Girl that is never shown now.. too sad? Don't know.
