I am pointed headlong into another busy day but I just had to stop in and share my good news for the day.
Jim and I came home from a four month project in CA about a year ago. We parked our 5th wheel at that point realizing that our traveling days were over for a time because my Dad's Alzheimer's Disease was getting so much worse and my Mom needed more help. We have lived next door to them for the last 30 years and even though most of my siblings live nearby it was important for us to stay close to home to help. We got busy with our life here at home and the 5th wheel sat idle for this whole year.
Since May 11th we have been caught up in the sad business of hospitals and emergency admissions to nursing homes. My dear Daddy passed away on 21 June surrounded by most of his favorite ladies, his wife of 57 years, his four daughters and one grandaughter.
My position as his oldest child, his bookeeper and my Mom's "right hand man" has kept me very busy and will keep me busy for months to come. But the good news is that Jim and I just signed up for another Habitat build with the RV Care-a-Vanners in September and we are ecstatic. I promise I will keep ya'll informed about this wonderful opportunity for a volunteer vacation as time goes on but for right now I would strongly encourage you to check out Habitat for Humanity's website (www.habitat.org) for more information. If you are a camper, if you like to visit new places, and if you like to donate time to a wonderful cause you might enjoy a two week Habitat build with the RV Care-a-Vanners. No construction experience required and I promise you will go home with more than you came.
Jumping up and down over here! Excited to have something to look forward to......
