I found our latest dog on e-bay local. She was described as an older dog and they were having trouble adopting her. I wrote and said I would take her if they couldn't find anyone else. Well they stopped looking then and called me about when and where we could meet to get her
She was found in an abandoned, foreclosed house with 7 other dogs and 3 cats. They don't know how long the animals had been there, and there was no food or water, but there was plenty of poop.
A foster mother was keeping her and she was the last one to be adopted of the found animals. Instead of cleaning her teeth, and because she was an older dog, they had most of her teeth pulled. She was microchiped by the local group that found homes for dogs. And they called her Josey.
Before we got home she had a new name, Rosy. Her personality was happy, friendly and eager to get on with her life. We could tell she had not been abused, because of her personality. She fit right in with our other 2 dashchunds. I don't know how old she is, but she acts like a pup, always ready to play and glad to see people.
Rosy has warmed our hearts, she is so sweet. I also have a new shadow, she follows me everywhere. She would be the perfect dog, if she didn't sound like a beagle when she barks. She does like to bark and we have to quiet her, because we live in a townhouse and have neighbors close by. And when she barks, so do the other dogs.
I really need a suggestion on how to stop her from barking. She barks when she is happy, she barks at neighbors walking their dogs. Sometimes, I think she barks just to get attention. Any ideas?
