My soon to be 3yr old Dachshund, Gracie, has had and still has an extreme case of Separation Anxiety! She has gotten a little better around the house. Use to be she would never leave my side. Now she will, at times, stay outside a little longer if it is sunny or go to another room to lie in the sun that is streaming in through a window. She gets cold very easy. Other than that she is always with me. I don't leave the house very often. I am in extreme pain most times and need to lie down to ease it. Those times I do leave I have been told she sits by the door or will follow others around but, the whole time she is whining and/or howling until I return. I sometimes have to travel far to see a specialist and will be gone for many hours but, she will do this still until I return. When I do return, she gets so excited I have to stay with her outside for a bit because she will always pee herself while she is wriggling and jumping on me. Does anyone have any advice on this?
