As of October 1, my current employer has informed me (nicely, of course) that the new co. procedure does not allow for 40hr F/T non-mgmt. positions. [The date just seems too coincidental] I am being kept on at 20hr P/T, but this obviously means a much-reduced weekly take-home. Have played with the numbers and believe that (with a little bit MORE judicious spending) it will just be possible to squeak by with my current expenses; my concern is that I simply see no way to further S-T-R-E-T-C-H that income to cover the mandated acquisition of my own health plan (short of moving from my current residence and living out of my minivan). Is there a heretofore undisclosed way for individuals to "opt-out" with the realization that any resulting (health care) costs would be fully the responsibility of the individual that might choose an "opt-out"? Lacking such an "opt-out", will there be any provision for someone to get some manner of financial assistance when acquiring the required plan? If anyone has the info on this, it will be greatly appreciated and you`ve my thanks.
