Until we get rid of the GOPers and provide all Americans with health care, there is no way a private insurance policy to provide for your long term care can be cost effective. My wife and I have agreed to look after eachother and when one of us goes, the other will use the retirement annuities to move on board the QE2 and cruise our way out. This will be considerably less expensive than a nursing home, and if we break our hip, they don't send us to "The Ward", they upgrade our room!! (This is only done with half a tongue in my cheek - BUT the "perminant passanger" on the QE2 will shell out around $35000/year for an inside room while a nursing home will take upwards of $40,000, and there's no free dance classes.
