I am so confused and sad. Hoping writing about this will make the tears go away. My daughter has alcohol, prescription drug addiction issues. She gets mad at me and then won't let me see my grandson. He and I are so close. He has spent almost every weekend for the past 11 years, spent almost every summer with me, and has stayed with me while my daughter goes galvanting around to foreign countries to see a boyfriend.
She has been traumatizing him by yelling and screaming at him, hitting him, calling him stupid (I could go on and on). He is now acting out to this torment in a negative way. He has written two suicide notes, threatens to run away, has stabbed himself repeatedly with a pencil, and banged his head against the wall. The only time he has done any of these actions is when she is yelling and screaming at him. He is a very polite, pleasant boy, but because of her illness, she doesn't know how to be a mother.
When I told her this couldn't go on and I was calling Children Services, she has prevented me from seeing him. It has been 29 days since I have seen him. Children Services cares less about the emotional harm done to a child. If they don't see any "marks" on the child, then everything is "good."
On Tuesday, I received a restraining order against me filed by my daughter which includes no contact with my grandson. She claims I have caused them both emotional stress because when she told me I couldn't see him any more, I sent him a Halloween card, and two miss you cards. She also considered this stalking.
Please pray for me on November 27, 2013. I go to court that day for the Protection from Abuse Hearing. Please pray the Judge realizes this child has been acting out because of his mother's addictions and treatment of him, not because his grandmother has ever harmed him. If he continues to live with her, I do not think he will make it through life. Please pray for my daughter that she is healed from her illnesses.
Please pray that my grandson and I will again be able to see each other again.
