I've been reading up on nutrition and depression, and can pass on a little of what I've read. A balanced diet is important, but especially for those with depression. Because it's difficult to get all of the vitamins you need through diet, alone, take a multivitamin. A good one. Make sure that you are getting adequate amounts of vitamins B6, B12, D, A and take an omega3 supplement. Also take vitamin C to boost immunity (depression is worse when you are ill). Cut way back on fats and sugars. Fats take up too much of your daiy calories. Sugar causes spikes and lows in blood sugar which affect your mood. You should drink no more than one beer or one glass of wine. We all know that alcohol contributes to depression.
