I'm encouraged by the new restaurants coming out with healthy menus. Hopefully, their customers might be inspired to try some of these dishes at home. I think one of the main costs for preparing foods from scratch is stocking the kitchen with all the seasonings, at least, initially. Especially if you are trying to coax other family members into eating healthy. I try to keep costs down on fruits and veggies by finding out which ones tend to absorb the most chemicals, and buying those organic. The others I can buy at the farmer's stands.
