The Cerebral Hemorrhage
Blood, life's blood should only flowwithin the paths it's s'posed to goin slender tubes that curve and windthroughout the body and the mind
It's not supposed to burst forth freein rushing waves, a killing spreedestroying brain cells left and rightgiving pain and stealing sight
This wound the docs cannot repairjust watch to see how he will farethe pain has gone from sharp to dulldoes brain still press against the skull?
My brave love ignored the signsas blood spred havoc in his mindtwo, three times he drove cross-townand hoisted bags of grass seed round
With shaking hand and slurring speechhe let a friend withhold his keysand then he rode in someone's carfive hours late to the E.R.
The signs of stroke are very clearsomething everyone should hearsudden headache on one sidesudden change in voice or sight
Remember brains go left to rightleft brain rules the right eye's sightfor right to left the same holds trueleft eye follows right brain rules
I watch the clock go round and roundand pray the swelling will go downtill the optic nerve's not in a bindand my husband's right side is not blind
c. 1/17/11, B. Riley
