Traveling to Orlando with my grandson in June, we were just lucky to go to Islands of Adventure on the 15th and 16th, and they allowed us into the Wizarding World. Everything was operating, and they were setting up for the "grand opening". There aren't that many rides, but the stores and "wand show" are worth it all.
Considering a one-day ticket, theme park food prices, and the convenience of having comfortable transportation to and from our hotels--it seems like a fair value at $95.
Since my convention partner has also read all the books (but not seen the movies), we'll be going to the Meet and Greet just to spend the 4 hours at Hogsmeade. It was really hot in June, so the Butterbeer tasted really good. I just don't want to take that Hogwarts ride again!
We did the Kennedy Space Center lunch, tour, etc., and that was really a full day's worth. It's on the list of tours available, but I think we'll do it on our own after the convention is over. Don't want to miss a day of speakers, programs, etc.
I'd like to go to Cirque du Soleil, but can't remember if that's an included tour or not. Probably should check to see, because it's such an advantage to have the bus transportation to and from. We really enjoyed Cirque at the Mirage last year.
Hope our National Events community gets active pretty soon. It sure helps to have others opinions of things to see and do.
