Hi Kathryn. I just joined this group today. I would love to lose 50lbs. That would be a good start. I have around 120 to 125 lbs to lose. I have restarted my commitment of watching what I eat and trying to walk some. I have never been this heavy before and am determined to get my life back. My husband and I are raising 2 grandkids and I want to be there for them. It blew me away when I stepped on the scales 3 weeks ago. I have had high blood pressure, bad knees and so on because of the weight, and now have to deal with having diabetes also. Enough is enough!!! Since that getting on the scale I have lost 8 pounds and am trying to excercise. Walking is the only thing that I am able to do much of right now, but I am determined to be the person that I know I can be. It takes alot of faith, determination and will power, but it can be done. Good luck to all of you who are needing to do what I am needing to do.
Hey, good for you to start walking! I keep saying I am going to exercise but ... I used to walk with my dog Elmo a lot but I started getting some feet problems, something about my metatarcels (?). Also, there are many dogs loose in my neighborhood and I don't like that even though I am not afraid because Elmo is a red nose pit; funny - he is a big baby.
The only kind of exercise that I have actually loved was weight training. I did it for about a year every morning before work and felt great. I bought a new gym and it is so blocked by junk in the spare room, I cannot even get to it nor have the ambition to do so!
Yes, will power ... I wish you well; I do think that having some sort of support person or group can be a lifeline.
So nice to find this group!
