I'm 64, have been driving for 43 years, and have been a loyal AAA customer for over 20 years. Other than one accident on October 2009, I had never had any at-fault accidents or moving violations. However, because of this one accident, AAA doubled my auto insurance premium to a whopping $1,790. I feel this is excessive but AAA will not lower the rate and they indicated any other insurance company will likely charge the samer or more.
I think I need to find another carrier but I don't have a clue as to how go about doing that. Where/how do I start? Is AAA right by saying I'm stuck with this excessive rate for three years regardless of who insures my auto?
