My first novel, a western titled Sage, was just published (June, 2011) by Sunbury Press. I spent about two years writing it, and another year getting someone to look at it. I struck out with about forty agents, and then a number of publishers. Sunbury was the first oufit that asked to see the manuscript, and they grabbed it. Persistance paid off.
The tale is about the life of John Coulter Sage. Sage was born on a horse ranch in southeastern Arizona in 1851. His father was an ex-mountain man and Army Scout. His mother was an Apache. Sage was raised in four cultures. He was taught to fight, and he was taught to think.
Sage led an adventurous life as an Apache youth, sailor, vaquero, cowboy, deputy sheriff, and much more.
It looks like marketing the book is going to be as challenging as getting it published. It is availabe on Amazon and in Kindle and Nook Books. Any ideas on how to alert readers to its presence would be welcome.
