All of the national Got Talent and X Factor shows are providing opportunities for talents that might otherwise not have had a chance to have that chance to be exposed to the public and have a chance.
Not only exceptional talents like Australian Chooka Parker, the Ukrainian pair, Duo Flame, Ukrainian vocalist Aida Nikolaychuk and 14 year old Cypriot tenor Giorgos Ioannou, but countless others have a much better chance to be able to do good things with their talents.
When I was about 14, there was a young unmarried teen mother who was living in our neighborhood with her cousin. She saw me practicing on my unicycle, and asked if it was hard. I said I'd help her learn, if she wanted. Inside of less than 10 minutes she was riding, and in another ten minutes had learned everything I had learned from my gymnastics coach about unicycle in the 3 months it had taken me to get that far. (he had been a European high wire clown, trapeze artist and professional clown for 15 years before he retired to coach gymnastics). I introduced her to my coach, and in a couple of months, she was off to a scholarship and apprenticeship in the Barnum and Bailey school. She was delighted, because the circus community had an informal day care and preschool setup. She made a career of the circus, and so have her children. Without that opportunity to have her talent recognized and develop it.............
