Many policies have been withdrawn because ACA requires added coverage that has to be paid for. The fact is that many policies have been withdrawn or have increased premiums. There is NO assurance that those "grandfathered" policies won't have increased premiums that make them too costly. Many of the plans on the exchanges have more limited availability for care and are NOT less costly.
Those are facts ,not whining!

Don't you think that is quite childish not to expect what you are saying? Of course, many of those policies cannot come up with the new requirements and need to either upgrade or simply give up. Which in my view great!!!!!! people need to understand that crappy policies are not going to serve them if they have a problem and need the expensive treatments. and then the out of pocket expense is more that what they can afford.
Insurances have always tried to minimize risk, that is a given in any insurance. So to me grandfathering the price of any insurance premium is a fairy tale and not a true account.
Let's not even talk about health insurances, have you ever seen what the insurances have done after any big disaster? like Hurricaes etc to their premiums?
Come on!!!!!!!!! be realistic and understand that is what insurances are all about. and either accept it. of don't sign for it.
I still feel that eventually we will have to go to a single payer opition if we really want to see prices stabiized, and unforturantely trust the big bad goverment to deal with all of us. and our healths.
