yes I know, I forgot to say after 2011 form 1099 is to filled out if you make over $600.00. in profit investments. just think of all that paper work
Think ONE PAGE that must be filled out by the person selling you gold. Big Whoop.
The person buying an investment does not fill out a 1099, the seller is required to report the income from the purchase and sale of profits on investments on a 1099. I get one annually from Schwab and Scottrade, and it is a simple, one-page form. NOT a hardship for them to fill out. You just report your earnings on the Form 1040. That is no major hardship, either.
Again, if you do not wish to do this, buy and sell all your gold, platinum and (yuck, yuck!) tungsten ingots on Craigslist. You might also look into iridium, paladium and niobium.
You must be unfamiliar with how filling out tax forms works.
