LOL! Never fear, rk, nothing you say is too complex for me. And you're not using euphemisms--see the dictionary for a definition. You could say that you are using hyperbole, and I would accept it. However, you are misrepresenting my position by exaggerating it, and that is a straw-man argument. Stop using straw-man arguments.
Your views are fluid--or better, inconsistent--because you haven't thought them through. Thus you think that the government regulating traffic is being "rational" because otherwise we would have chaos, but you fail to see that government regulation is also needed to prevent chaos in the financial system.
I understand your position because I've heard it a thousand times before. You are an extreme libertarian. I haven't heard you offer any substance to or evidence backing your arguments, which seem to be standard libertarian principles. There is nothing to discuss if you fail to add evidence. We are going around in circles because there is no depth to your arguments, just repetition of the same tired libertarian ideas.
This is a board for the exchange of ideas, but expect to be called on your tactics if you commit logical fallacies.
In Response to Re: Invisible hand VS creationism?:
O.K. cat, since euphenisms are to complex and come across as "straw men", I'll try to be more direct.
Do I believe that financiers should be left to their own devices? Well, I guess I do if the alternative is policies of supposed regulation that does nothing and then bails out the "nogoodnics". Once again, as long as the government is going to foster a climate of "you win=you win/you lose=we pay" I'd rather have a situation wherein the fear of potential loss would temper the greed that is inherent in us less than perfect creatures.
What is fluid in my views? Just because I approve of us all driving on the right side of the street but don't want every aspect of my life ruled by those GS-8's I mentioned? That is not being fluid, it is being rational.
Possibly the reason for going around is circles is your refusal to try to understand meaning and see things as other than black and white - reacting with attacks rather than thought. But, I guess it all depends on one's expectation from these boards - exchange of ideas or bullying. Hey, there is a lot we can all learn from each other if we are willing to honestly listen.
