Sounds like a very good tool for the police, and for Honest John the Citizen who might need an alibi that could be provided or at least supported, by proving where his CAR was at suchandsuch a time. Not sure what the down side might be - seems to avoid the problems Police had in putting people suspected of a crime under surveillance by putting GPS locators on their cars, should help them know when someone MIGHT be driving with a suspended license, expired tags, etc and get more drunks and scuffaws off the road. Not sure where the "down side" is on this, esp since we've decided that you have virtually NO "expectation of privacy" when you're out driving around in your car.
So what if anything is the problem, aside from wasting tax dollars tracking Bubba's voyages to Wally World.
Strikes me it would make abductions easier to track
