I've heard that children can bring their elderly parents to the US, have them become citizens by taking a test in their own languages and then qualify for SS benefits after being here for a year or so. I don't know if this is true, but it seems unfair that people who have never paid into it can claim SS benefits. I've heard that some can return to their own countries and receive SS benefits which can even make them wealthy. I belong to a Current Events group at a senior center and brought up this topic, but no one is really certain about this. Is this factual?
