I would hope that many here know that parts of Colorado have been flooded in the past week. I would hope that many here know that some dams collapsed which increased the amount of water unleashed down stream as the run-off from the Eastern Rockies received excessive rain.
Death toll was low, that is great news. Hopefully we can all agree on that.
Media has done a fair job of reporting on this. They focused on the human side of this event. And they have not reported on another part of that flooding - in which Fracking Storage containers were unmoored and floated down the waterways. This unglamourous event will have consequences.
How much damage to the environment? I don't know. But if you like to fish in CO - this may be something to consider when getting ready for your next planned adventure. (Pictures are of Weld County) via FB: EastBoulderCountyUnited.
