In Response to Re: Re: Re: Alabama Governor by ANNIESWORKSHOP
Observe how the author of this post and others have abstained from defending the weirdo Moore.
I believe the last inference was that electing him would cause people to love God, tithe to the Church, save 10% of their income, and recognize that the Ten Commandments arte the basis of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I tend to question that any of this would happen.
However, THREE of the Commandments are concerned with the proper worship of God, and two others deal with envy and adultery, neither of which has been a crime. That leaves theft, murder and perjury, as a basis for the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, I believe, though none of these is actually mentioned in either document.
Such crimes are indeed recognized in the US as crimes, but are left to the several states.
I imagine a more probable result would be that Alabama would be faced with a series of expensive court cases which Moore would lose, one by one, enriching lawyers and producing zero benefits for Alabamans.
A basic problem of rightwingers is that they do not actually read and think about all the silly stuff they spew. It is likely that we shall hear no more in defense of electing this moron to the governorship of Alabama. He sort of makes George Wallace look clever by comparison.
