2/13/2014: so much information, so little desire to share...but OK - this is a self assigned task, so here goes.
Yesterday, an ACTIVIST Judge ruled that KY had to recognize the Equal Marriage ruling from SCOTUS and told KY that they had to recognize those marriages that were legally performed in other states. Mitch complained: McConnell, calling himself a "traditionalist" who opposes same-sex marriage, was critical of a federal judge's decision to strike down parts of a 1998 Kentucky law and a 2004 amendment to the Kentucky Constitution that defined marriage as being between a man and a women.
Those darn judges - weill except the history of this Federal Judge is tied to Mitch. U.S. District Court Judge John G. Heyburn II was “appointed to the bench by Republican president George H.W. Bush—at the recommendation of GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)!,”
Heyburn once served as McConnell’s general counsel, apparently.
Moreover, Judge Heyburn has twice been appointed to judicial committees—appointments given to him by conservative Supreme Court Chief Justices William Rhenquist and John Roberts!
Mitch is not going to be happy that records such as those above are available in near real time. It took weeks if not months for a Politicians lies be fact checked.
