Performing due diligence today, which includes reading from a variety of sites, it seems that the GOP are trying to figure out how to become a fascist led country, similar to Russia / China and not let their follower's know that is where they are being led until it is too late.
1. There is a meeting today in the Dirkson building, where a religious faction that endorses the Russian legislation on LGBT issues. No, it is not that they just hate teh gays, these groups have made repeated trips to Russia to feed the frenzy. (update: Mark Kirk - R-IL) has pulled this authorization....ya think!!!! Opps, it is being reported that the Room was reserved by Boehner)
2. Interesting discussion on why Rand Paul and his plagiarism should be taken seriously. Then there was a report that the Pete Peterson Group (Fix the Debt and its youthful outreach - The Can Kicks Back) has been outed for writing an Op_ED that "miraculously " appeared in a number of college papers - word for word....which of course they say had nothing to do with them. So yes, Plagiarism matters and had these supposed college students either don't know or care about plagiarism and how they can copy / paste some one else's words without any negative repercussions. Interestingly - RW sites that Rand plagiarized gave Rand a free-pass as well....what does that say about a lack of their so-called 'moral authority"?
3. Rounding up the RW nonsense - Rafael, the junior Senator from TX) gave yet another interview yesterday and then coyly interjected a MAO / Communist attributed statement. And it's my hope that we see a thousand flowers bloom, that we see lots of people stepping up providing that leadership because that's what it's going to take to turn the country around," he concluded.
"I never thought I'd hear you espousing the views of Chairman Mao," (Chris)Wallace chuckled.
There are tells about how/ where the GOP are headed - but only if the listener's are actually listening....from what I read here, most are too busy to actually read much more than a headline or think about the implication of what they are actually reading.
