In 1997 I was unfortunate to get selected to the jury of McVeigh. I did not want to sit on this trial.
His main focus was that Waco was his main reason for the bombing. But getting from his defense attorneys was his disfavoring with the government and interferences with peoples rights. He felt so strongly that the AFT had interfered with the religious belief's of the Branch Davidians.
One of the factors that was brought out was the day care center and his attorneys pointed out that because of the government interferences that children were killed at Waco. McVeigh felt it was the government that killed the children not the Davidians. If the government has stayed out of the Davidians business that both Waco and Ok bombings wouldn't have happened. Fascinating story! Just a thought about McVeigh's beliefs.........He blamed the government for killing the children when Koresh could have let them leave at any time, and there were multiple reports that David Koresh had taken some of the young girls as his "wife" (as young as 11) and had sexual relations with them. Wonder if he thought that was ok since it was part of Koresh's bizarre religion? It seems that Mr. McVeigh's hatred of the government allowed him to overlook any wrongs by Koresh in order to rationalize blowing up the building.
