Hi everyone..I'm from ohio. I've been doing ponds for over 20 years. The most interesting thing I have seen around my ponds was a dragonfly emerging. Not everyone knows they come from out of the water. I watched everything from coming out of the shell to the flying stage. It was the most interesting thing I have ever seen. They come out of the shell leaning kind of backwards and once out they cling on to the shell and then the miracle starts. You don't see any wings but all of a sudden they start growing as does the body. The wings are a whitish color at this point. Everything just keeps growing right before your eyes and it kept me glued to it the whole time. The bug has no color yet either. As the bug grows the wings finally start getting clear and the bug also gets color on it. Then it finally flies. It just fantastic to watch but it takes a few hours which I almost live out there anyway as I also like photography so I take pics of the pond and critters out there. So what have you seen out at your ponds that you thought was interesting?
