So this evening we heard a new frog in one of our ponds and are very excited. In the past we've had the bull-frogs and very tiny frogs that I call clackety-clacks...and of course the multitude of toads. But now we have a new addition and have no idea what he looks like. We heard him and tried to sneak up to see him, but no such luck. His "call" is about the weirdest I've ever heard....and very different from a bull frog. And he sounds very large! So now the search begins and each evening we'll sneak out and try to see him. I'll keep you up-dated.
What kinds of frogs do the rest of you have? Like I said, we always have a great many toads...once we counted 75 in the big pond at one time. But we're always thrilled when we get the frogs..especially since we live in the middle of a city.
I have 3 ponds in my back yard and have loads of frogs and such. The bigger frogs will also eat the smaller frogs. I have tons of lilies so I think mine are somewhat protected. I've had ponds for over 20 years now and practicially live out there.
