In Response to RE: Looking for some ideas by ProfessorO
Hello. I just posted information on another group blog. You should check out the federal sector. List your field interest in USAJOBS.GOV. Sort by your location, city, state, etc. Pay no attention to the media regarding downsizing of the Govt. That pertains to certain agencies. Many agencies need experienced workers who can write, speak and lead teams and know something re healthcare initiatives. Something that younger people are not apt to do these days, especially writing. There are plenty of federal jobs out there but you will have to be proactive. Once you find something, check back the status of your app or contact the POC. Many agencies do not have the manpower to look at all applications. Also, check resumetemplate.org to rework your resume, if needed. You may also look up the following agencies that are hiring now during your search: FBI (state offices with jobs other than agents), Dept of Veterans Affairs Regional Office and HospItals (found in every city and state), Federal Parks and Recreation, Dept of the Navy. You may also want to consider the Paralyzed Veterans of America, a non-profit org that does hire for various jobs. Hope this helps.
