I'm 67; been in IT since the middle 1980s. Worked for some very large companies. Got outsourced in 2010 and since then, well, nothing. I'm on Craigslist and Indeed; I'm in LinkedIn, my resume is on Monster. I'm a pretty good software developer but.....nothing. Had one great, like GREAT, phone interview two weeks ago on Friday. It was almost a love-in. i was pretty surprised. Went in for the face-to-face on Monday and while it seemed OK there was no technical aspect whatsover which I found a bit odd and then I was walked to the elevator, and "Bye." (literally). I've had a couple of other telephone interviews; perhaps one of them will pan out but....since I'm living on the (very teeny) SSI and my dwindling savings, at some point soon, I'll be panhandling.
Any suggestions are great appreciated.
