In Response to Re: Dreams...:
I dug this discussion from the past because I had a very unusual dream. I remember my dreams more than half the time, sometimes more than one in a single night and I can usually see some reason why a particular topic or issue should be in my subconscious. Every now and then I have one that just seems to come out of nowhere. This one falls into the latter category.
I dreamed I was standing in a back yard next to a vacant lot that was sometimes used as an unpaved parking lot. Suddenly a car came into the lot driving too fast. The brakes squeeled as it slid to a stop and managed to miss a row of shrubs along the edge. Someone that I couldn't see called from behind me "It's your brother". The car was a lime green Camero convertible and the top was down. I was surprised to see that it was running because I didn't know it had been repaired. I went over to inspect it and saw there were vines caught in the folds of the cloth top and flowing over into the back seat. The cloth top was green with white polka dots. The driver, a young boy of about 18 asked for a drink of water and I told him there was a water fountain under the stairs in the basement.
The yard was not familiar. I don't have a brother and the car was very nice, but I've never known anyone who had one like it. I've had two green cars: a '55 Olds and a '74(?) Vega. The only thing in the dream that seemed at all familiar is that my father installed a water fountain under the basement stairs in the house where I grew up sometime when I was in high school. I don't know where he got it but we thought it was cool that we didn't have to go upstairs to get a drink. I hadn't thought about that since I moved away from home after college.

A very strange dream PattyDiane. Sometimes it is hard to interpret our dreams. Maybe you have been thinking about your father and that is why you pictured the water fountain under the basement stairs. But where does the thought about a brother you never had comes from?
