Most people don't realize how interconnected strength training and heart disease truely is. Without developing your trunk muscles, you have no muscle constriction to aid in blood flow back to the heart. This causes your heart to have to work harder with each beat. Stength training helps increase your body's lean muscle mass which, burns more calories at rest than the same desity of fat mass.
