In Response to Working after retirement.: PLEASE HELP ME, I AM LOOKING FOR A P/T JOB IN THE SCOTCH PLAINS/WESTFIELD, NEW JERSEY AREAS. PLEASE SHOW ME HOW TO POST MY RESUME. THANKS! Posted by boldenphallen Free locations where you can post your resume online and get the best exposure are: 1) Monster.com and 2) Careerbuilder.com
NOTE and BEWARE: If a response to your resume does not include a company name with a phone number, address and contact person, (that can be verified with a Google search), it almost always is a scammer trying to hack your computer or separate you from your money. NEVER open an attachment until you have researched the company and know it is legitimate.
When you build your resume, include a concise Summary that shows off your skills and experience to get the attention of agencies and HR departments. You can flesh out your detailed skills and experience in the body of your resume.
Consider employment agencies, but learn which are: 1) willing to work with you, and 2) which are just meeting their quota for new applications. The first value your time and will contact you WHEN a job is available, schedule a phone or in-person interview, while you complete the paperwork online. The latter will tell you they have many clients in your area, invite you in to fill out an application so they can ‘see’ you, and once you ‘ve completed the application, you never hear from them again.
Recent news reports say that retailers are expected to fill 700,000 temporary retail jobs. If this a field that may be of interest, most stores are hiring now, the hours are flexible and you may be able to start working within a few days after submitting your application - but it will be seasonal, ending after the holidays.
Good luck with your job search. |
