Eight years ago, I came up with a small craft item that I started selling on eBay.  That small start has grown into several products and other selling venues.  When I started, I would have been happy with 100 sales.  I'm now into the thousands.
This is a great work-at-home business.  I found something I know how to do and like doing (woodworking) and turned it into a profit center.  I can work as hard as I want - or not.  I sold $600 worth of merchandise while on vacation.  All I needed was an internet connection (motel), some inventory, some stamps, and a mailbox.  My little business is bringing in about half of our living expenses.

According to Obama, the person you told us all to vote for, you can't build a business. Somebody else has to make it happen. When you run articles like this you are talking out of both sides of your mouth.

I voted none of these although handyworker comes close.
wa7jos comes the closest to what I both like and know how to do - woodworking be it creating new product or repairing old.

I was blessed to have two fabulous daughters who decided I needed something to do when I retired from real estate. Into my life came a small home embroidery machine. Within six months that small machine had made me a ton of money just selling items to friends and was retired to be replaced by a top of the line machine. Since then I've added a multi-needle machine. A little website, a little time, a lot of fun...oh, and a nice income, particularly around the holiday season. I'm branching out and training to become a sewing instructor, a very needed skill since schools can't afford to have home ec classes like they did when I was in school, and many Moms never learned to sew either. So I'll keep busy with my passion until I can no longer sit at the machine, or read directions.

Therefore, Per Obama, I will not need to spend long hours to make it happen and will not need to worry about how to make it succeed and will not need to use my money for investment because someone else will do all these things for me.

I feel the best job is something that you have a passion for. I voted for none of the above. I currently have a business consulting firm that I am currently re working. The banking and rating fasco did a real number to businesses left and right. Start a business that suits your passion. If you can afford it making a lot of money is not an issue.

This is an incomplete and out of context quote.  He was talking about highways and bridges. No small businessman could build these on his own and we all need them.  I suggest looking up this quote instead of just going with what you hear on TV.
