Ideally we should get rid of Obama.  He just gave Russia all of our and Britains nuecular secrets.  That is Treason. But our wimpy congressmen will do nothing.  They have to go too.  If we get rid of Obama maybe our country can straighten out the mess Obama did intentionally to spend our tax dollars and drive us into bankruptcy.  Gas up because he vetoed the key/canada oil lines.  Sorry but I hate that man.  I just hope America is awake now.

In Response to Re: Share your fears about Social Security:
My greatest fear is that the independent voters will believe the Republican propaganda and vote to privatise Social Security.  This will increase the cost and decrease the money available to those who need it the most.  Every one on Social Secupity KNOWS every time our COLA is re-assesed we get even less than what the cost of living actually is.  If they (The Republicans) were really concerned, medication would be figured into the COLA. As it is, I cannot afford to have a car, eat out, go to a show, or travle outside of my bike riding rainge.  When my arthritus gets too bad to ride a bike anymore, I'll hobble down to Republican headquarters and set myself on fire.

Sorry but Obama did this to us.  This was the first thing Obama did while in office was to deny us a cost of living. Then he went out and spent Trillions that were wasted.  Republicans have always given us a cost of living raise.  Barrack Obama jjust gave out all Britians and our nucular secrets to Russia.  That is Treason. He wants to shrink our military leaving us without strength.  He closed the canada keyline raising gas to prices and shut down many drillings here in the states. He llies on TV.  The Media is covering up. Obama plans to make some real slavery moves if he is re-elected.  Russia sells nucular to Iran and Obama wants to open that door wider decreasing our Military.    Do your home work please.  I'm not a republican but I stand with them now to get rid of Obama. Obama is a traitor and he is not for America. Please people wake up

They should put a freeze on all illgal's who didn't earn it.. They should make congress and sentor's repay with there raises they got til it's repaid.. Since they spent it they should repay it.. And illegalll's should only get emergency care allowed.. and the baby's born should have to return to mexico to susport them.. Then they wouldn't want to be here if they can't get the
care we all pay for.. Oh well this is a dream as none of it will ever be done.. We cant trust congress or sentor's or the president who keeps selling us out for his dream..

I just read that even my Social Security is subject to being taxed!!!  You would think that I already paid tax on my income to the Federal Government while I worked for 40 years ... and the SS should be tax free, no matter if I work or not.  Not Fair!!!  If I read correctly, anything over $25K makes my SS (at least half of it) taxable income!!!  Is this true ???

Yes, Social Security is broke -  the politicians spent the money long ago and left us with a bunch of worthless I.O.U.'s to be paid out of general tax revenues. SO, stop complaining, and accept the fact. YOU, if you have a reasonable amount of health, and some life/business experience, are going to have to pay your own way. I started my own service business 15 years ago in preparation for this day (I'll turn 65 in July). You can do the same, it's not too late.

I raised 3 children alone after a divorce and received no child support.  I put myself through college and worked 2 jobs until 2003 at which time I was diagnoised with breast cancer after 2 surgeries, chemo and radiation I again worked 2 jobs until finally in April of 2008 I became totally disabled.  All those years I paid into both ss and medicare from 2 jobs and now that I am disabled and have no retirement or savings I am not doing very well financially on SSD and medicare.  I was an accountant and I am not understanding how the government and deriving at the raise percentage of ss.  If my grocery and cleaning supplies have doubled, gas prices have doubled and medicare cost has risen, I would like to ask government officals why ss has not done likewise and also I would like for them to tell me why they want to cut ss and not pay back what they have taken from ss funds.  I believe our Military who has had the least percentage pay raise in over 25 years and all of us on ss should all get together and vote for a candidate who is looking out for our best interest instead of someone who is not.  If you want to petition or speak to the senate or congress I would be more than happy to assist you.  I also am willing for all of my medical and financial records to be made viewable to them.  Someone needs to stand up and help us make a difference before it is too late for us and I am willing to be that someone if you need me.

Write to your congressman and senator about Totalization benefits!

The Social Security Administration is currently conducting negotiations with other countries to provide benefits to people that work in the United States for 1 1/2 years or longer. As Americans, we need to work 10 years and have substantial earnings in order to even qualify for benefits. Under the Totalization agreements, foreigners that work here just have to work 1 1/2 years in America in order to qualify for a U.S. Social Security benefit. Why isn't there an outrage over this? There are more than 500,000 foreigners already receiving U.S. Social Security benefits OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES! The list of countries that we provide this benefit is growing. The administration tries to hide this from us Americans, it rarely hits the spotlight in Congress or the news. This is all done quietly and few people know about it. Spread the word, tell your friends, write letters, help me help us save our Social Security. Together we can make a difference! We have a voice, we should not let this happen, we can only save our future benefits but pushing our lawmakers to get corrupted officials to stop draining our social security funds to push up their careers. There is enough corruption in government as it is, enough is enough. Lets work together to do something about it for once! Please write letters to congress to stop Totalization benefits and to stop current Social Security Totalization negotioations now!

Yes it is true, up to 85% of your Social Security income is taxable. It is an outrage. Foreigners under the Totalization agreeemnt do not pay a tax because they are not US citizens, these are people that work legally in the US for at least 1 1/2 years and then file for US benefits. This is a "treaty" that the US has with many countries (more are added each year). They get US Social Security checks by paying almost NOTHING into our system and they slowly drain our funds. While no one cares to listen or do anything about it.
