I would like someone to explain to me why anyone would suggest or even go along with a Payroll Tax Holiday and why AARP has not been more vocal against it.   This Holiday supposedly provides a stimulus to the economy on the backs of Future Seniors by reducing payments that everyone admits is slowly going broke - reducing the time before it totally runs out of money.
Meanwhile, the present Senior population, living off of SS and/or any retirement funds, are being exempted from any of the stimulus as we are paying no payroll taxes.
A more fair and equitible tax relief would have come from the Federal Income tax which would allow Seniors and any people who may have lost their jobs this year (they don't pay payroll taxes either) to participate.

Why isn't AARP more vocal about it.  Because the federal government (read the Obama administration) has given them money to be silent about it -- or, as AARP says, given them money for training programs!
